Hi folks,
It seems that being a new business with a new domain and sending out over ten thousand emails on your first day, is now making life difficult for our emails to get through advising you of new video forecast updates. We have been actively working with major companies to whitelist our domain, and will continue doing so. But sometimes the larger these companies are, the slower they operate and some of the largest email providers may take weeks to rectify the issue.
So we have taken the initiative and instead of waiting potentially weeks or maybe even months for our domain to get white listed. Our new developer Dominic (who some of you have met in tech support as well) has introduced push notifications to let you know on your mobile or desktop as soon as a new update is posted - the notification will let you know the title of the blog post and you can click it to go to the link and watch the video or check out the update. The notification will look something like this:

There are a lot of major browsers, but here's what you need to do to receive these push notifications. By the way for iOS users, we haven't been able to develop these for you as of yet - that functionality is coming.
Chrome (Desktop/Laptop)

- Open Chrome on your desktop or laptop.
- Navigate to weatheriq.com.au.
- Look for a lock icon or an information icon to the left of the address in the address bar.
- Click on the icon, and a menu will appear.
- Find "Notifications" in the menu and select "Allow" from the dropdown.
.

.

.

- If no pop-up appears, click the information icon or lock icon next to the address bar.
- In the menu, select "Permissions", find "Notifications", and set it to "Allow".
.
Firefox (Mobile)
- Open the Firefox app on your mobile device.
- Go to weatheriq.com.au.

- Select "Edit Site Settings".
- Check "Notifications" and then tap "Clear" or "Save".
.
Safari (Desktop/Laptop)
- Open Safari on your Mac.
- Visit weatheriq.com.au.
- When the site requests to send notifications, click "Allow".
- If there’s no request, click Safari in the menu bar, then "Preferences".
- Go to the "Websites" tab and select "Notifications".
- Find the website and select "Allow".
.
Other Browsers
For other browsers, the process is generally similar:
- Open the browser and go to the website.
- Look for a notification permission prompt or a lock/information icon near the website address.
- Adjust the notification settings to "Allow".
.
Remember, these steps might slightly vary depending on the browser version you are using. Always make sure your browser is updated to the latest version for the best performance and security.
If you feel you're getting too many notifications you can simply cancel/disable them temporarily. Useful if there's a major weather event on the other side of Australia and you don't want to be getting pinged multiple times a day about it. Note we can not do this for you, only you can enable and disable them yourselves. Please don't message support asking for us to enable/disable these notifications for you because we can not.
We will add further functionality to our web push notifications in the future, but for now they will be an excellent solution for many of you who have mentioned you're not receiving email from us.
